🌿 What Exactly is Muslin?

Muslin is one of the softest and most breathable fabrics ever made. It is crafted using fine cotton yarns woven loosely to allow natural airflow — which is why muslin feels light, airy, and comfortable even during long hours of wear.

Unlike heavy synthetic fabrics that sit on the body, muslin moves with you. Think of it as comfort your skin can actually feel.

👶 Why We Chose Muslin

MusHaves actually started much before MusHaves.

When we started Tokabear after having our child, we were searching for fabrics that truly felt safe and soft for babies. But most clothes in the market were full of polyester blends or became rough after a few washes.

The softest thing we found? Muslin swaddles. That became our starting point.

So we began creating baby sleepwear and essentials in the same muslin fabric — because we wanted our little one wrapped in something breathable, natural, and gentle.

And honestly, everyone around us kept saying the same thing:

"Ise bada kar do yaar, mujhe bhi yehi pehenna hai."

That one line slowly became MusHaves. We started making muslin clothing for adults too. And once we started wearing it ourselves, going back became difficult.

Because once your skin gets used to real fabric instead of synthetic layers, you start noticing the difference everywhere.

Every MusHaves piece begins in cotton fields. Muslin is not just another cotton fabric — it uses finer yarns and a softer weave structure that creates both softness and airflow together.

Historically, some of the world's finest muslin was first woven in Bengal, India. The fabric became so famous for its lightness that it was often called: ☁️ "Woven Air"

Unlike polyester fabrics made from petroleum and plastic, cotton can go back to the earth naturally. But sustainability is not just about materials — it is about mindset. Growing cotton takes water, effort, land, and labour. So clothes should not be treated as disposable.
